The Eye is the First Circle -

The Documentary

A movement that changed modern art

The Eye is The First Circle, the documentary, is a film produced by Schler Productions, LLC., and PBS12 that recognizes the diverse group of women artists of the 1940s and 1950s who, until recently, have been absent from the narrative of art history.

The compelling story is based in part upon author Mary Gabriel’s New York Times bestselling book, Ninth Street Women, and the Denver Art Museum’s groundbreaking exhibition, Women of Abstract Expressionism.
